  • What’s included in the range of Country Crock® products?

    Our spreads come in Original, Light, Churn Style, and Calcium tubs. We also have Country Crock® unsalted and salted Baking Sticks. Country Crock® Plant Butter sticks come in Olive Oil, Avocado Oil, and Almond Oil. Plant Butter tubs come in Olive Oil and Almond Oil.

  • How is Country Crock® different than dairy butter?

    Country Crock® is a spread made with oils from plants, whereas butter is made with milk or cream from cows. Country Crock® has less saturated fat per serving than dairy butter, but still has a delicious buttery taste. Country Crock® products also tend to be softer out of the fridge for easy spreading.

    Country Crock® sticks and tubs contain between 1g and 5g of saturated fat per tbsp, depending on the product. Butter contains 7g saturated fat per tbsp.

  • Is Country Crock® better for me than dairy butter?

    Country Crock® products are all made of plant-based oils – a source of good fats.

    Because we use plant-based oils, all our Country Crock® products contain less saturated fat than dairy butter, as well as zero cholesterol:

  • Are Country Crock® products gluten-free?

    None of our products contain gluten ingredients. All Country Crock® products are tested as gluten-free (as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration) by Upfield except for Country Crock® Baking Sticks. Please also refer to the product labels, which are clearly marked to help guide you through your Country Crock® spread choices.

  • Are Country Crock® products Kosher?

    All Country Crock ® products are certified Kosher, except for the Country Crock® Original Canola Oil Blend 17.3oz Bonus Pack. It is a limited-edition item made by us in our plant in Germany to help our U.S. production meet the high demand for our products, which has increased due to more people are eating at home during the pandemic.

  • Are Country Crock® products okay for vegan diets?

    Country Crock® Plant Butter is suitable for vegan diets.

    Upfield defines “vegan” as food products that are made with no animal-derived ingredients. A “vegan diet” includes Plant-Based foods and strictly excludes foods produced with animal-derived ingredients (such as meat, milk and eggs). “Plant-Based” food products are made with plant ingredients (such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, nuts, seeds and/or legumes) and no animal-derived ingredients.

  • Does Country Crock® contain cholesterol?

    No, all our spreads and sticks are completely cholesterol-free.

  • What are "Plant Butter" or "Plant-Based" butters? How do they differ from butter?

    A plant-based butter is a dairy-free product made with oils from plants. Dairy butter is a dairy product made with cream or milk from cows. Our Country Crock® Plant Butter was specifically created to taste like dairy butter and be great for cooking and baking.

  • Does Country Crock® contain artificial ingredients?

    The primary ingredients of Country Crock® products are a blend of plant-based oils, water, and salt.

    Country Crock® products contain no artificial preservatives or flavors, including: Country Crock® Original, Light, and Churn Style spreads as well as our new Country Crock® Plant Butter sticks and tubs. Instead we use ingredients like vinegar to maintain product taste and freshness.

    Country Crock® Calcium and Baking Stick products are made with a common food preservative call potassium sorbate, a type of salt that is used to maintain freshness.

  • Why use palm oil?

    Palm oil, which comes from the flesh of the palm plant, is a harder Plant-Based fat that gives our products the right consistency so that they can be spread easily.

  • Can I bake and cook with Country Crock® Spreads?

    Yes! Country Crock® is great for cooking and baking. Certain Country Crock® products can be swapped 1:1 for butter in cooking and baking recipes: Country Crock® Baking Sticks and Country Crock® Plant Butter sticks and tubs. The rest of our products have lower fat content and cannot always be swapped 1:1, particularly in baking. You can find all the right measurements in our Country Crock® "Recipes”.

  • Can I bake with salted sticks?

    Both our Salted and Unsalted Country Crock® Baking Sticks are perfect for baking. Either one will work – it’s all about your personal preference.

  • What’s the best way to store Country Crock® and keep it fresh?

    Always refrigerate the product after every use and use a clean knife every time you dive in.

  • Can I freeze Country Crock®?

    Country Crock® Baking Sticks and Country Crock® Plant Butter tubs and sticks can be frozen. Our other Country Crock® tub products are most delicious when they are fresh – so we don’t recommend freezing them.

  • Are the containers microwave and dishwasher safe?

    Our tubs are not dishwasher-safe or microwaveable. They can be recycled and hand-washed to use again.

  • Is plant cream dairy free?

    Yes

  • Is plant cream gluten free?

  • Is plant cream Kosher?

  • Is plant cream carrageenan free?

    Yes

  • How should the plant cream be stored?

    In the fridge. You should not freeze Country Crock Plant Cream unless you’re using it to make ice cream.

  • How long does the plant cream last after it’s been opened?

    5 days if refrigerated between use.

  • What is the shelf life?

    The shelf life is 9 months from the time it is manufactured. Each pack will state the use by date.

  • Is the packaging resealable?

    Yes

  • Should the Country Crock Plant Cream be whipped chilled or at room temperature?

    Country Crock Plant Cream should always be kept chilled in the fridge. For best whipping results, please ensure Country Crock Plant Cream has been chilled for at least four hours in the fridge so it is cold.

  • How many calories per serving does Country Crock Plant Cream have?

    Country Crock Plant Cream has 45 calories per 1 tbsp serving compared to 50 calories per 1 tbsp serving in dairy heavy whipping cream. (Dairy heavy whipping cream nutrition values come from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, FoodData Central.)

  • How long should it take to whip?

    4-5 minutes with an electric mixer and within seconds in a whipped cream charger.

  • Can Country Crock Plant Cream be whipped by hand?

    Country Crock Plant Cream can be whipped by hand, but like with dairy heavy whipping cream, it can take a while! We recommend using an electric mixer or a whipped cream charger. If you do decide to whip it by hand, expect it to take up to 15 minutes to fully whip.

  • How does the performance of Country Crock Plant Cream compare to traditional dairy heavy whipping cream?

    This product whips, cooks, and bakes beautifully, but unlike dairy heavy whipping cream our product is dairy free! It can be used in all your favorite recipes as a 1:1 swap for dairy heavy whipping cream.

  • What should the plant cream taste like without adding ingredients like sugar and vanilla when preparing?

    Our plant cream has a very neutral taste, but it contains a small amount of sugar to replicate the natural sweetness and taste of dairy. If you are making whipped cream, we suggest adding a sweetener like maple syrup, powdered sugar, or simple syrup like you would when making whipped cream with dairy heavy whipping cream. We recommend adding 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar or maple syrup per 2 cups of Country Crock Plant Cream when making whipped cream.

  • Can you put the plant cream in coffee?

    We do not recommend you use our plant cream as a half & half or coffee creamer substitute in coffee. However, you can use the plant cream to make whipped cream and top the coffee!

  • Should you shake the container before you whip it?

    No! If you shake the container, it could begin to whip the plant cream in the package making it harder to pour.

  • How does Country Crock Plant Cream work with heat in cooking?

    This product performs well when used in hot recipes. You can use it to make soups, savory pasta sauces, quiches, etc. It won't curdle in high heat, and you can even add wine or an acid like lemon juice to make sauces without any problems.

  • Can you use it to make ice cream?

    Yes, it makes great ice cream.

  • Can the plant cream be frozen?

    No, you should not freeze Country Crock Plant Cream unless you’re using it to make ice cream.

  • The lid fell off. Is the plant cream still good to use?

    The opening of the container needs to be kept covered at all times to ensure freshness. If your lid pops off, please reach out to our Careline team at careline.upfield@upfield.com. In the meantime, please cover the opening with a piece of tin foil or plastic wrap tightly affixed around the opening and use within 5 days of opening.

  • What recipes can you make with Country Crock Plant Cream?

    You can use Country Crock Plant Cream just as you would use dairy heavy whipping cream in all your delicious recipes. Use it to make dairy free whipped cream, flaky biscuits, delicious soups, and creamy pasta dishes – all with the rich and creamy taste you love, without any dairy.

  • Can Country Crock Plant Cream be used like dairy heavy whipping cream?

    Yes. Country Crock Plant Cream cooks, bakes, and whips beautifully. You can use it as a 1:1 swap for dairy heavy whipping cream in all your favorite recipes without any additional measuring or recipe edits.

  • Is Country Crock Plant Cream healthier than dairy heavy whipping cream?

    Our dairy free plant cream contains 4.5g of fat per 1 tbsp serving. Dairy heavy whipping cream contains 5g of fat per 1 tbsp serving. Country Crock Plant Cream has 29% less saturated fat than dairy heavy whipping cream, and it has 45 calories per 1 tbsp serving compared to 50 calories per 1 tbsp serving of dairy heavy whipping cream.   • Is Country Crock Plant Cream packaging recyclable?

    Yes – the carton and cap are recyclable. Simply empty the carton and replace the cap before recycling. Look for the How2Recycle logo on the back of the pack for more information and visit earth911.com for recycling information in your community.

  • Where is Country Crock Plant Cream made?

    Is it made in a dairy free environment? It’s made at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Germany. The production environment is free from dairy, and we follow internal validation protocols.

  • What is Country Crock Plant Cream made of?

    Country Crock Plant Cream is made from plant milk (water and lentil protein) and a plant-based oil blend (coconut and canola oils) to create the smooth and rich taste of traditional dairy heavy whipping cream. It also contains less than 2% per serving of the following ingredients: sugar, modified corn starch, sucrose esters of fatty acid, natural flavor, mono and di-glycerides, salt, guar gum, sunflower lecithin, locust bean gum, and beta carotene (color).   • Are there artificial colors in Country Crock Plant Cream?

    Our plant cream gets its coloring from beta carotene, which is from a natural source. However, the FDA defines any added color as artificial even if the source is natural.

  • Does Country Crock Plant Cream use artificial flavoring?

    No, our flavoring is natural.

  • Can I recycle the box for the sticks?

    Yes, the cartons for Country Crock® Plant Butter sticks and Country Crock® Baking Sticks are recyclable. The inner wrappers that cover each individual stick are not recyclable.
